Incantations from The Lady With The Alligator Purse

Finding it so difficult to work on  art, Being a self-employed person now. Loving that but it is were my time and creativity is being spent.
So blogging more on  Happy Mountain Yoga.
Back in 2011, July, I performed a Solo show at The Filling Station's Solofest. The Alibi article said "Courageous performers take the stage without a parachute" A great article by Summer Olsson. Yet in developing the work I felt lifted, supported by fellow creatives and though I was out on stage alone- I wasn't alone. Vivian Nesbit coached me through the parts that required the most bravery, Solo Performances, for the Story Healers in Sante Fe inspired me. As well as many old and new friends and the Filling station was also supportive. But it goes even deeper than that, friends and colleges surrounded me, recent life changes supported the return to creative authenticity, and synchronicity. So, after a couple decades of not doing my performance art, It was right, right in so many ways. The energy was there on all levels, and audience showed up, not just walked through the door they showed up! I felt connected to them - the story - the space -that was magic.
The process of development was disciplined and required much energy, but truly a great joy for me,a deeply satisfying process. The result also deeply satisfying and reviews and feedback encouraging;

"In Incantations from the Lady with the Alligator Purse, Christina Bouajila unfurls a collage of stories in an infectiously joyful manifesto of her own exuberance."    Brian Herrera for TalkinBroadway.com,  Albuquerque reginal reviews

"I had the pleasant opportunity to be present for Christina's solo performance at the "Filling Station" this summer.  Christina succeeded in keeping our attention from start to finish and entertained us with a growing up story that enthralled us, entertained us and brought reminiscences of each of our own growing up stories.  And the circus act was simply amazing. Who knew that a full 3 ring circus could be staged in a tiny old converted gas station?  Actually she pulled it off and it was more of a 6 or 8 (I lost count) ring circus.  It's worth the meager price of admission for the circus alone.  Bravo!! Christina!!" -MICHAEL L MILLER, Producer/Albuquerque, NM

Would like to see more Incantations?     Follow blog if you do.  Thanks, Christina

eight original Haiku peoms

Ego shadowed soul
when I was all that and more.
 Tripping as Buffoon

 Lost and confused
When you know the one true self
You’ll know what you want

Turned the other way
Not participating now
Abandoned drama
Enough of  sleeping
Dancing in the vastness here,
now be One with All

 Shhh, Quiet. Listen.
mind being still, Soul Dancing
Celestial Song

Turning into wind
Everywhere nowhere wondering
Spinning into self

Out of the small mind                                                                                                                 Immersed in heart via spirit
Not coming back soon

Rather be crazy
Wondering inside of heart
than function outside
